Parenting Coordination

Justice ScaleParenting Coordination is new in Canada and BC however it has been used in the US for quite some time. A Parenting Coordinator is appointed by the Court with the consent of both parents. The Parenting Coordinator has the authority to make decisions in the best interests of the children where the parents are unable to agree. This intervention is used primarily with high conflict couples who continually get into power struggles and frequently end up in Court. This saves a great deal of Court time and avoids a common situation in separation and divorce cases of this nature where even minor decisions result in escalating conflict. This creates a very unhealthy environment for the children.

Bob Finlay is on the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster which qualifies Parenting Coordinators in BC. If you are interested in learning more about this intervention, please contact him directly.
